Maquiagem masculina deixa de ser tabu em canal no YouTube
Cada vez mais cedo os meninos estão cuidando da aparência. Desde massagens, limpeza de pele até o mundo dos cosméticos, usando cremes e (acreditem!) maquiagem. Não é difícil achar canais de meninas ensinando truques de maquiagem no YouTube. Mas, fugindo do comum, o Girls & Boys encontrou o vendedor Thiago Botelho, 27, que tem um canal de sucesso crescente no site de vídeos, o Maquiagem Masculina.
Ele começou o canal no dia 12 de abril de 2009 incentivado pelas gurus do make up no YouTube. Ao procurar similares para os garotos, a surpresa: “para minha decepção, encontrei somente 3 homens em língua estrangeira que faziam isso. E, para decepção maior, todos sem exceção ‘exageravam’ na maquiagem. Então, depois de muita conversa com amigos e com um medo absurdo, decidi encarar a tarefa de fazer um vídeo ensinando homens a aproveitarem o que o mercado têm a oferecer ao nosso favor”, diz Thiago.
Ele conta que começou a se interessar por maquiagem quando era modelo, pois tinha a pele bastante oleosa e cheia de espinhas e prestava atenção nos truques utilizados pelos maquiadores: “Eu ficava de olho na marca e cor de produto, além da técnica. Saía das sessões e corria para o nosso amigo Google para ver se achava o tal produtinho milagroso”. Suas marcas favoritas são a canadense MAC e no Brasil, O Boticário. “O Boticario é a primeira a acreditar em uma linha de maquiagem e tratamento para homens… pena que ainda não invista em cores”, diz.
Thiago afirma que os rapazes preferem passo-a-passo de temas como: maquiagem no trabalho e em festas. “Aprendi que homens gostam de tudo rápido, fácil e principalmente… natural. E é isso que defendo”, afirma Thiago.

Em média, quanto gasta em compras de maquiagem por mês?
Segredo! (risos) Juroooo… Acredito que cada centavo gasto, um dia (pode demorar muito) irá valer a pena. Aliás, já está valendo, pois recebo mensagens incríveis me dando apoio… só isso basta!
Acha que falta incentivo das marcas em fazerem propagandas para homens comprarem e usarem maquiagem?
Na verdade, existe a falta de incentivo sim, mas percebo que esse mercado é um dos que mais cresce no país. Acredito que pior que a falta de incentivo é a falta de treinamento apropriado aos que vendem os produtos. Na minha opinião, e já provei isso no meu canal do YouTube e no meu site, é que tudo relacionado a estética que está no mercado pode ser usado usando por homens. E que só é necessária a técnica certa.
Os homens têm vergonha de comprar maquiagem porque falta uma linha específica para eles?
Até certo ponto sim. É bacana você procurar algo que seja destinado a você. Tudo se torna mais simples e talvez menos vergonhoso. Mas como disse anteriormente, não é a linha de maquiagem ou tratamento em si com a palavra “homem” que muda a situação. O que é embaraçoso é ver pessoas despreparadas e preconceituosas te olharem estranho. Ou seja, acredito que não muda ter linha específica e sim o treinamento de quem os vende… Isso torna tudo mais gostoso e confortável para o homem.
Acredita que no futuro essa situação irá mudar?
Não só acredito, como invisto cada dia mais, e testo mais e mais produtos. Quero que um dia não tenha só o Thiago Botelho fazendo isso no YouTube , mas que haja vários. E que possamos trocar idéias e testar produtos. Tenho certeza que o mercado de cosméticos está se preparando pra isso.
Em quais ocasiões o homem pode usar maquiagem?
Todas! Eu uso no trabalho, na festa, comigo não tem tempo ruim, os homens podem e devem se maquiar, se melhorar. E usando a técnica certa, tudo será minimizado e corrigido.
Você recebe muitos xingamentos e mensagens com preconceito?
Olha… vou dizer uma coisa: nunca recebi um xingamento sequer. Juro! Talvez isso tenha feito com que eu continuasse. Aliás só recebo elogios, dicas e agradecimentos de homens que encontraram essas dicas. O meu medo de ser xingado e discriminado passou depois do terceiro vídeo, pois o apoio foi imenso e ainda é. E xingamento nunca, nunquinha recebi!

Adorei TODAS as dicas, mas deixarei a minha dica para que fique melhor ainda para quem está vendo seus vídeos: tente usar alguma luminária mais perto do rosto pois boa parte dos vídeos está com muita sombra no rosto e (eu) não consegui ver direito os resultados. Não precisa ser perto do rosto, mas a uma distância maior que o monitor do computador. De resto: adoro seu site, adoro as dicas, você é um fofo e explica muito bem. SUCESSO, garotaum!
